Children in Europe and the Central Asia region have faced increased protection-related risks in recent years due to the consequences of unresolved armed conflict, civil unrest, large scale migration, and natural disasters.

Increased child protection risks occur in the context of significant numbers of children facing conditions of exclusion, marginalization, social, and economic inequity.

The course explains emergency child protection programming in Europe and the Central Asia Region.

Learning Objectives:

The objectives of this course are to:

  • Reinforce the standards, context, and priorities for CPiE preparedness and response.
  • Share key documents, information sources and firsthand experiences from within the ECAR region.
  • Promote a better understanding of the basic principles of child protection in emergencies and their relevance in the ECAR region. Within this context, the course discusses emergency and specific CP risks and challenges in implementing programs.
