UNOPS
The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) joined the CADRI Partnership in 2014. UNOPS deploys specialized expertise in response to country demand for CADRI services in resilient infrastructure systems and infrastructure-based solutions with community involvement.

UNOPS is a service provider, a technical advisor and an implementer of projects to help nations achieve peace and sustainable development, supported by appropriate, sustainable and resilient infrastructure and by the efficient, transparent use of public resources in procurement and project management. UNOPS can use its experience in both structural resilience building (e.g. resilient infrastructure services based on sound risk assessments) and non-structural resilience building (e.g. early warning systems, community participation and training) to function as a relevant implementing partner for specific infrastructure-based DRR solutions.

As one of CADRI’s Technical Partners, UNOPS deploys specialized expertise to support CADRI work at global, regional and country level. UNOPS supported the development of the CADRI Capacity Diagnosis and Planning module for the Infrastructure sector.

UNOPS deploys specialized expertise in response to country demand for CADRI Partnership services in the areas of resilient infrastructure, more specifically in:

  • Resilient infrastructure-based solutions in urban development plans and disaster risk management plans
  • Structural damage assessments for resilient recovery and reconstruction
