UNWOMEN
UN Women joined the CADRI Partnership in 2019. UN Women provides advisory guidance to the development of CADRI Partnership products and services, such as good practices, training modules and the CADRI Capacity Diagnosis and Planning tool, to ensure a strong focus on gender equality and women’s rights in disaster risk reduction.

UN Women is the United Nations entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. UN Women provided technical support to Member States along with civil society organizations and other UN entities on gender-responsive disaster risk reduction, and awareness raising on gender equality and the need for empowerment and leadership of women in disasters. In particular, UN Women promotes women’s equal participation and leadership, increased collection and use of sex- and age-disaggregated data, gender analysis as well as inclusion of gender-responsive targets and indicators in the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.

As one of CADRI’s Advisory Partners, UN Women contributes technical inputs to the development of CADRI Partnership products and services, such as the compendia of good practices and the inventory of training modules. UN Women, together with UNFPA and IFRC, contributed to the integration of gender equity and women rights in the CADRI Capacity Diagnosis and Planning modules.
