CADRI works both with governments and on the ground – to ensure that capacity development is made central to all national and local strategies for disaster risk reduction. We are guided by the five priorities of the Hyogo Framework for Action.
Capacity development
Capacity development is about human development – supporting the growth of individuals and groups, within society and across nations as a whole.
Disaster risk reduction
Disaster risk reduction (DRR) refers to a broad spectrum of work that includes prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.
Hyogo Framework for Action
The HFA connects reducing disaster risk with broader development challenges such as the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
